How ShipShelf works
A curated launch platform with honest rankings: 24 products and 98 community reviews — every listing reviewed by a human.
For makers — from build to launch day
1 · Submit in ten minutes
Name, tagline, description, pricing, screenshots, promo code. Drafts save as you go, and the tips panel tells you what converts.
2 · Book a launch day
Book your launch day up to 30 days out. Your page goes live early with a countdown, so you can warm your audience up before voting opens.
3 · Pass human curation
Every listing is reviewed by a person within 24–48 hours. Spam is filtered before it ever reaches the shelf — which is exactly why being on it carries weight.
4 · Launch, rank, compound
Launch day puts you on the Launching Today rail and the daily leaderboard. Your embeddable badge shows a live upvote count and links back — a growth loop that outlives launch week.
For discoverers — find tools worth your stack
Explore & filter
Search across names, taglines, and tags; filter by category and pricing model; sort by trending, newest, top rated, or most upvoted.
Upvote what deserves it
Your vote moves the daily, weekly, and monthly leaderboards. Vote-ring protection means the rankings reflect real people's picks.
Review what you use
Star ratings with written reviews — one per product, always editable. Sparse ratings are weighted so the charts can't be gamed by a single glowing review.
Grab launch deals
Many listings ship with promo codes — reveal, copy, and support the maker while getting a better price.
Ranking, honestly
Trending
Launch recency plus upvotes on a log scale. A launch from three days ago outranks a giant from last year — every product gets its window.
Top Rated
Bayesian-weighted ratings. A product with three 5-star reviews sits below one with fifty 4.8s, because confidence matters.
No pay-to-rank
Featured placement is editorial and labeled. Money never moves a product up a leaderboard — the charts are the product.
Frequently asked
How long does review take?
Most submissions are reviewed by a human within 24–48 hours. If a listing is rejected you get the reason, and you can fix it and resubmit — rejection is feedback, not a ban.
What does it cost to launch?
Launching on ShipShelf is free. Every listing gets the same page, the same ranking rules, and the same embeddable badge.
How does ranking actually work?
Trending scores a product by when it launched plus its upvotes on a log scale: the newest launches lead, and upvotes break the ties — roughly every tenfold jump in votes is worth another half-day of freshness. Every vote counts the same no matter when it was cast. Top Rated pulls sparse ratings toward the middle so one 5-star review can't beat fifty 4.8s. Nothing on the shelf is pay-to-rank.
Can makers upvote their own products?
No — self-votes are blocked, brand-new accounts wait a few minutes before voting, vote velocity is capped, and many accounts voting for one product from a single network get flagged. Rankings only mean something if they can't be bought or botted.
What happens on launch day?
Your listing goes live at the top of the Launching Today rail and the daily leaderboard opens. Launch days are curated, so you're never buried under a hundred simultaneous launches.
Can I edit my listing after it's live?
Yes. Cosmetic edits publish instantly; changes to what was actually reviewed (name, description, website, logo) go back through the curation queue so the shelf stays trustworthy.
