How this board is decided

One account, one vote: An account can upvote a listing once, and can take it back. Self-votes are blocked, brand-new accounts wait before they can vote, and vote velocity is capped — a position here can't be manufactured overnight.
Only votes inside the window: A listing that collected hundreds of upvotes last year starts every window on zero. That is why the three tabs can show three different orders, and why a launch from this morning can lead.
Karma is not currency: Maker karma, follower counts and page views are shown for context only. Neither karma nor follows move a product up this board.
Nothing here is paid: Featured placement is editorial and always labeled as such. There is no position on any ShipShelf board that money can buy.
The record is kept hourly: Site-wide standings are snapshotted every hour. That is where the peak positions on this page come from, and how Product of the Day medals are settled once a day has closed.
